Facts and Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How long will your juice keep once it’s open?
A: Old Orchard Juices and Juice Cocktails contain no preservatives, so they should be tightly capped and refrigerated after opening. And while we can’t say exactly how long they’ll last, if you keep our juices in these conditions, once open they should last seven to ten days.

If you store your juices unopened in reasonable conditions, they should be drinkable for up to twelve months. This may vary, of course, depending on the juice and the storage conditions.

Q: Are your juices pasteurized?
A: All of our juices and juice cocktails are pasteurized to make sure that they’re safe to drink. Pasteurization is a heating process that eliminates any harmful bacteria. To make sure that our juices remain fresh, be sure to store opened juices in the refrigerator.

Q: Do you add sugar to your 100% juice products?
A: No. The amount of sugar shown on the nutrition labels of our 100% juice products is for fructose and glucose, which come from the fruits we use to make our juices.

Q: What does “From Concentrate” mean?
A: When the fruits that we use are harvested, the water is removed from them. Upon making the juice, water is added
back – in just the right amounts.

Q: Are your product containers recyclable?
A:
Yes.  Our 64 oz plastic containers are PET (polyethylene Terephthalate) #1 Plastic. Our 12 oz plastic containers are HDPE (High Density Polyethylene) #2 and the lids of these containers are LLDPE (Linear Low Density Polyethylene) #4. All are recyclable in most recycling stations through-out the country.

Are you getting your "Five-A-Day?"

Not all juice drinks are as healthy as they seem.
Here are a few tips to help you select the best juices.

Read Product Labels
Government regulations require that all juice-based products state the exact amount of juice that they contain.

Read Ingredient Labels
The ingredient statement will tell you what types of juice are used. Watch out for artificial flavors and colors, or lots of added sugar.

Read Nutrition Labels
Most fruit juice-based products contain no fat and no cholesterol and are very low in sodium. However, some juices made from a vegetable base may contain large amounts of sodium.
