OLD ORCHARD BRINGS FIRST EVER LOW CARBOHYDRATE, LOW SUGAR GRAPE JUICE TO FRUIT LOVERS AND DIETERS

SPARTA, Mich., November 10, 2003 -- It's getting even more interesting for fruit juice lovers as Old Orchard ® Brands today announced that it will begin offering low carbohydrate juices in January 2004, just in time for dieters to cash in on new year resolutions to lose weight after the annual holiday eating binge.

Old Orchard LoCarb Grape Juice will be the first and only low sugar, low carbohydrate grape juice offered by a major juice producer. The   grape juice is one of five Old Orchard LoCarb products - Apple, Apple Kiwi Strawberry, Apple Cranberry and Apple Raspberry. Old Orchard LoCarb juices will have 75 percent less sugar, carbohydrates and calories compared to other fruit juices. The company developed the Old Orchard LoCarb fruit juices in response to changing dietary habits in North America.

"There is a growing trend in the food and beverage industry toward offering low-carb products," said Michael McDonald, vice president of sales and marketing for Old Orchard Brands.   "Eating nutritionally and maintaining a healthy weight is important, and many people are pursuing popular diets like the Atkins' Diet, The Zone or the South Beach Diet. The Old Orchard LoCarb fruit juices will provide those dieters, and the rest of us, with a great way to get essential vitamins while providing a guilt-free treat."

The Old Orchard LoCarb juice cocktails are 25 percent juice, preservative free and naturally sweetened using Splenda® no calorie sweetener. In addition, the juices contain no dyes as they are naturally colored using the Aronia Berry, which contains more than 100 percent of the daily value of vitamin C and 8 to 10 times higher amounts of antioxidants and anti-inflammatory agents than the cranberry.

Old Orchard LoCarb Apple, Apple Kiwi Strawberry, Apple Cranberry, Apple Raspberry and Grape will hit store shelves soon after the new year and will be available in a 64-oz. recyclable plastic bottle at major grocers.

While there are no concrete numbers on how many low-carb dieters there are nationwide, some estimates place the figure between 15 and 30 million. The Natural Health Institute estimates that there are approximately 25.4 million individuals who have either tried or are using the Atkins' Diet for weight management.

"We are responding to the increasing number of consumers who want to continue to enjoy fruit juices after they have adopted a healthy, low-carb lifestyle," McDonald said. "We chose Grape because of its inherent health benefits and added our four most popular flavors for our new Old Orchard LoCarb juice line."

Sparta, Michigan-based Old Orchard Brands is one of the fastest growing fruit juice brands in the United States. The privately held company started operations in 1978 and offers consumers 29 frozen concentrate flavors and 36 bottled flavors in a variety of 100 percent fruit juices, blends and low-carbohydrate fruit juice cocktails.
